Day 1-3
MAKGADIKGADI NATIONAL PARK
Upon arrival at Maun Airport, guests will be met and transferred by light aircraft (scheduled service) to Leroo La Tau, where they will spend their first three nights. This beautiful lodge rises majestically above the seasonal Boteti River, which stretches across the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
The park, populated by up to 30 000 zebra and wildebeest closely accompanied by predators, offers guests the chance to experience the exhilaration of seeing large concentrations of game and the resultant predator interaction. The lodge features a raised hide above the river, providing spectacular wildlife sightings typical of this part of Botswana.
With just 12 thatched luxury chalets, all overlooking the magnificent Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, each with en-suite bathrooms, guests can enjoy a dining room, reading room, and bar in the main lodge, expansive wooden decks, and a plunge pool. This setting allows guests to immerse themselves seamlessly into the ultimate wildlife experience in Botswana.
Having explored the area and enjoyed a spectacular wildlife experience on guided day and night game drives, guests can retire after dinner to a splendid fireplace overlooking the river. Optional cultural excursions can be arranged to visit Khumaga Village and Nxai Pan National Park during their stay.
Overnight at Leroo La Tau – Fully inclusive.
Day 4-6
OKAVANGO DELTA
After breakfast, guests will depart via scheduled transfer by light aircraft for a 3-night stay at Camp Okavango, located in one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Camp Okavango is an enchanting and authentically African safari camp, situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience and incredible birding.
Camp Okavango’s traditional thatch and lethaka (reed) main lodge features a cocktail bar, lounge, and wildlife reference library. The dining room leads onto an expansive open-air patio, perfect for brunch, afternoon tea, and tranquil evenings around the fire. Other facilities include a secluded bird hide and a sundeck with a plunge pool for relaxing and cooling off during the hot midday hours.
Guests may explore the area in a dugout canoe (mokoro) on the delta lagoons and channels or on sunset boat cruises. For those wanting to get a little closer to nature, guided bush walks are conducted on nearby islands, offering an opportunity to track some of the larger land-based species.
Overnight at Camp Okavango – Fully inclusive.
Day 7-9
CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast and the morning game activity, guests will make their way by air (scheduled transfer by light aircraft) to Kasane Airport, where they will be met by a representative and transferred by road to the stunning Chobe Game Lodge for their final 3 nights in Botswana.
Chobe Game Lodge is one of those iconic African properties that combine location, luxury, and elegance. It is the only permanent lodge within the boundaries of Chobe National Park and was the first property in Botswana to introduce electric game viewing boats and vehicles, and among the first lodges to be fully Eco-certified.
Chobe Game Lodge also boasts a fully qualified and the only all-female guiding team in Africa. The lodge is Botswana’s premier venue for guests looking for a perfect base from which to explore the national park and the Chobe River. This 5-star lodge has full eco-grading and is designed as a haven of peace and privacy, where relaxation is effortless.
Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives that follow the course of the Chobe River, as experienced guides interpret the bush signs and tracks in search of resident wildlife. Alternatively, guests can relax on a sunset river cruise, getting up close and personal with the vast array of aquatic wildlife. Unlike any other water-based activity in Botswana, the game viewing on a river safari in Chobe is unsurpassed. Elephants line the water’s edge, hippos congregate in lagoons, hundreds of antelope and giraffe make their way to the water, and sightings of predators along the riverbanks are common.
Birding is spectacular in this region, with Schalow’s turaco, barred owlet, and white-browed coucal resident in the gardens, as well as rosy-throated longclaw, western-banded snake eagle, and hooded vulture among a few of the 450 species of the Chobe region.
Overnight at Chobe Game Lodge – Fully inclusive.
