Day 1 | Saturday
WINDHOEK – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We have great things ahead of us. Traveling north to Tsumeb, which is the gateway to the Etosha National Park, which we will discover over the next couple of days.
Overnight at Minen Hotel.
Day 2 | Sunday
ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We spend the day exploring the world-famous Etosha National Park, home to 114 animal species and 340 bird species. Every turn reveals something new – zebra, elephant, giraffe, oryx, springbok, kudu, and even the rarely seen black-nosed impala. If we’re lucky, we might spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, or hyenas in the early morning or late afternoon. The vast Etosha Pan shimmers golden in the sunlight or fills with thousands of birds after the rains. We follow roads leading to the best waterholes before exiting through Andersson Gate at sunset.
Overnight at Etotongwe Lodge – Breakfast.
Day 3 | Monday
ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
One last day of thrilling wildlife encounters! The park’s diverse vegetation and waterholes each tell a different story. A watchful antelope may hint at a hidden predator nearby. Like us, animals seek shade in the midday heat, so our best game drives are early morning or late afternoon.
Overnight at Etotongwe Lodge – Breakfast.
Day 4 | Tuesday
ERONGO REGION
Travelling from Etosha to the Erongo region, we take in Namibia’s breathtaking scenery. In the charming town of Omaruru, explore colonial heritage, small art galleries, and a historic church. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Living Museum of the San to discover ancient traditions and view rock paintings in the Erongo Mountains.
Overnight at Omaruru Guesthouse – Breakfast.
Day 5 | Wednesday
ERONGO – SWAKOPMUND
On our way to the Atlantic, we take a guided walk to Bushman Paradise, where we uncover San rock paintings hidden among the rocks. After days in nature, Swakopmund is a welcome retreat – cosy cafés, a beach promenade, and a jetty stretching out over the ocean. Our hotel is perfectly located for exploring on foot.
Overnight at Swakopmund Plaza Hotel – Breakfast.
Day 6 | Thursday
SWAKOPMUND
It is not without reason that Swakopmund is called “Namibia’s playground”. All you have to do is decide which guided activity you fancy the most. Choose from sightseeing flights over the Namib dunes and along the Skeleton Coast, quad biking, sandboarding, or even skydiving. Prefer the water? Try kayaking or a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay. Alternatively, relax by the beach, browse for souvenirs, or enjoy fresh seafood in a charming restaurant.
Overnight at Swakopmund Plaza Hotel – Breakfast.
Day 7 | Friday
SWAKOPMUND – NAMIB DESERT
We have only just said goodbye to the Atlantic and the fresh sea breeze when the shimmering heat of the Namib captures us again. We cross a seemingly endless desert plain and the bizarre Kuiseb Canyon, approaching the little settlement of Solitaire on the edge of the Namib Naukluft National Park. Well shaken by the gravel road, we reach our accommodation at the foot of the Tsaris Pass in the afternoon. Time enough for a dip in the refreshing pool, a hike or an optional nature tour with the lodge. When the setting sun turns the surrounding mountains blue, we know once again that we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.
Overnight at Hammerstein Lodge – Breakfast.
Day 8 | Saturday
NAMIB DESERT / SOSSUSVLEI
An early start takes us to Sossusvlei to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the red dunes. The stark white clay pans, weathered trees, and deep blue sky create an unforgettable scene. Later, we explore Sesriem Canyon, a hidden natural wonder carved by the Tsauchab River over millions of years. Back at the lodge, we unwind—whether by the pool or with a sundowner in hand.
Overnight at Hammerstein Lodge – Breakfast.
Day 9 | Sunday
MARIENTAL
Our destination today is the edge of the Kalahari! You accommodation for the last night in Namibia offers rugged beauty of the Namibian landscape. Enjoy stunning views of the bushveld and game roaming at a nearby waterhole or can be discovered on an optional nature/game drive with the lodge.
Overnight at Africa Safari Lodge – Breakfast.
Day 10 | Monday
DEPARTURE
After breakfast, we say goodbye with a heavy heart. Via the villages of Mariental and Rehoboth, we take the asphalt road back to the central plateau. The endless sky and the bush savannah show themselves once again from their best side before we arrive back in the bustling capital Windhoek. Depending on whether the journey continues for you or whether home is calling, our guide will take you to your hotel or directly to the airport. Packed with unforgettable memories and experiences, it’s time to head home: See you next time!
