Day 1-4
LOWER ZAMBEZI
On arrival at Lusaka Airport, guests will be met by a representative of their charter flight company and transferred by air on a 1 hour flight to Jeki airstrip. Here they will be welcomed by their guide and transferred by open game vehicle to Sausage Tree Camp.
The Lower Zambezi, where Sausage Tree Camp is situated, is a key national park of Zambia and lies between the rugged and dramatic Zambezi escarpment and the wide and spectacular Zambezi River. There are many channels, lagoons, sandbanks and islands along the river combined with open plains, woodland and bush areas behind the riverine strip. The park is populated with a large variety of species including a good number of predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog.
Sleeping only 18 guests, Sausage Tree Camp offers a civilized approach to a true bush experience with lavish attention to detail. Each of the 7 luxury suites is a spacious island of cool minimalist style serviced by a Muchinda (private butler). Highlights being the unique open-air shower, a large deck with private plunge pool & lounge area, mini bar with leather sofas and an unforgettable view.
By land guests can enjoy game drives and walking safaris or take to the river and explore the area with boat cruises, canoeing and even a spot of tiger fishing.
Overnight at Sausage Tree Camp – Fully Inclusive.
Day 5-8
SOUTH LUANGWA
After a delicious breakfast and, if time permitting, a morning activity, guests will be transferred back to Jeki airstrip in time for their 1.5 hour light aircraft flight to Mfuwe Airport (via Lusaka). On landing a representative of Luangwa River Camp will be waiting to welcome guests and transfer them by open game vehicle to camp.
Luangwa River Camp is situated in the heart of one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas, and one of the most perfect spots on earth; the banks of the Luangwa River at the end of the Great Rift Valley. Guests are guaranteed to see an incredible array of wildlife and enjoy a superb level of service. This small and intimate camp with just 5 bush suites, along with its setting and location creates a real ‘’wow’’ factor and a romantic feeling simply flows through the camp.
The South Luangwa National Park marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, one of the last remaining unspoilt wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. Guests are able to spend their days here enjoying all that the park has to offer on game drives, seasonal boat cruises, guided bush walks as well as village tours.
