Livingstone has become a well-known destination because of its close proximity to one of the world famous 7 Natural Wonders of the World, the mighty Victoria Falls. The town itself has preserved much of its colonial character over the years but it still presents an African feel with and busy charm. Rich in scenery and heritage, Livingstone today has become the tourist heart of Zambia.

Day 3-6
SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
After a delicious breakfast, guests will pack up and be transferred to Livingstone Airport in time for their 1 hour flight to Lusaka Airport where they will connect to their light aircraft flight to Mfuwe airstrip (1 hour). On arrival they will be welcomed by a representative of the intimate Kakuli Bush Camp and a safari vehicle will transfer them on a scenic drive to the camp.
Kakuli, meaning old buffalo bull, was the nickname given by locals to the pioneering founder Norman Carr who began the tradition of walking safaris in South Luangwa National Park. Its 5 bright and airy rooms (including a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom family suite) are designed to make the most of the panoramic setting. Each room offers a feather-top bed, indoor and outdoor showers, and a covered open-air seating area. The elevated main lounge overlooks the river and a permanent lagoon. Beneath it, a wildlife hide offers up-close views of game stopping by for a drink.
Guests can relax and admire the sweeping vista with a refreshing drink of their own before sampling traditional Zambian dishes at dinner. The camp makes a great base for exploring by vehicle and on foot, with a resident lion pride, a seasonal colony of jewel-like carmine bee-eaters, and the most sightings of leopards in a single drive every year. During the lush emerald ‘secret season, guests can venture out by boat and on foot to enjoy some of the best opportunities for wildlife and landscape photography.
Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks have some of the most breath-taking and untouched wilderness areas in Africa, as well as the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.
Overnight at Kakuli Bush Camp – Fully Inclusive.
