Ethiopian Airlines To Launch New UAE Routes Starting 1st June 2025
Ethiopian Airlines has announced the introduction of a new service between Addis Ababa and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), effective 1st June 2025. Both routes will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The new Addis Ababa-Sharjah route will operate four times per week. The airline is also launching new direct flights between Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi, UAE, from July 15. These flights will operate daily.
Boeing Opens African Office In Addis Ababa
Boeing has officially launched its new African office in Addis Ababa, signaling the company’s deepening commitment to the continent’s aviation sector. The announcement was made on 23 April 2025 by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics, with Minister Alemu Sime describing the move as a key milestone both for Boeing’s global strategy and for Ethiopia’s role in advancing regional connectivity.
Temporary Closure Of Tarime Aerodrome Airstrip
Tarime Aerodrome Airstrip is closed from 21st April 2025 to 31st May 2025 for major maintenance and improvement work on the runway and surrounding facilities. During this time, no aircraft will be allowed to operate to or from Tarime. As a result, Safarilink will not be able to operate the Mara–Serengeti connection via Migori–Tarime during the period of the closure.
To assist customers during this time, Safarilink is offering alternative travel via Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for Inbound flights from Serengeti and Outbound flights from Wilson Airport for TICKETED bookings. Our reservations team will be in-touch on all flight bookings affected by this, offering suitable alternatives.

Singita Completes Redesign Of Serengeti Private Villa!
Singita has completed the redesign of Serengeti House – its four-suite, exclusive-use villa in the Serengeti’s Grumeti Game Reserve. The redesign includes architectural upgrades such as an enhanced kitchen and a rebuilt wellness area along with a more open-plan feel and extensive interior design changes.
Zanzibar Merger Update – Sharazad Oasis & Sharazad Boutique Merge From March 15th, 2026
Effective March 15th, 2026, Sharazad Oasis and Sharazad Boutique in Jambiani Zanzibar will merge to form a single, unified entity. This strategic integration aims to enhance the overall guest experience by combining the unique strengths and offerings of both properties. In conjunction with this merger, Sharazad Zanzibar will streamline its accommodation options, moving from a diverse range of room types to a more curated selection of just 4 distinct categories. This re-categorization is designed to simplify the booking process and ensure clarity for guests while maintaining the high standards of comfort and style that Sharazad is known for. Park Hyatt Zanzibar’ swimming pool area is temporarily closed for essential maintenance and upgrades scheduled to take place until May 1st, 2025 . The Hotel is at hand to offer assistance with alternative arrangements.
Zanzibar: Bathroom Renovation Update: Sea Cliff Resort & Spa
Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar is currently undertaking bathroom renovations as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the property and service. These renovations are being implemented block by block and are anticipated to be fully completed by Mid-December 2025. The current phase of renovations is focused on Block B, from April 15th to June 15th, 2025, which will result in the temporary closure of 4 Deluxe Rooms, 4 Superior Twin Rooms, and 16 Superior Double Rooms within that block. The renovation schedule for the remaining blocks is as follows: Block C from June 15th to August 14th, Block D from August 15th to October 8th, Block E from October 15th to November 18th, Block E from November 26th to December 5th 2025.
Mombasa: Foyer Upgrade Underway At Travellers Beach Hotel & Spa, Mombasa
Travellers’ Beach Hotel & Spa will commence foyer construction on April 25th, 2025, for a duration of 60 days, concluding on June 24th, 2025 to enhance guest comfort and comply with tourism regulations. During this period, an alternative access to the main reception will be provided and clearly signposted for guests’ convenience.
Mombasa: Nomad Beach Resort Renovation Works
Nomad Beach Resort will be undergoing Bathroom renovations in the Sea Breeze Rooms from April 21st to May 15th, 2025 daily between 09:00hrs and 18:00hrs. While some noise may be noticeable near the main pool and Rivas Bar, minimal disturbance is to be expected in the Ocean View Rooms and Beach Cottages, located away from the renovation site.
