Lufthansa Adds More Flights Between South Africa and Europe
Lufthansa is expanding flights to South Africa, offering 38 weekly routes between SA and Europe. This includes more Munich–Johannesburg flights, new overnight schedules, and an extra Cape Town–Frankfurt service from October 2026. Swiss Airline and Edelweiss will also upgrade and continue their Zurich routes as tourism grows.
Table Mountain Cableway Closed for Annual Maintenance (27 July – 9 August 2026)
The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway will be closed for annual maintenance from 27 July to 9 August 2026. No cable car services will operate during this period. The Cableway is scheduled to reopen on 10 August 2026, weather permitting.
