Kenya – Update on Heavy Rains & Floods
The Current Situation in Kenya is as follows as per a statement released yesterday by the Kenya Tourism Federation:
Nairobi National Park: Roads are passable.
Masai Mara National Reserve: The Reserve has been adversely affected by the heavy rains leading to stakeholders meeting to explore ways of mitigating the situation. Currently, several Camps along Talek River are not accessible, but Lodges and Camps around Sekenani area are accessible.
Amboseli National Park: The roads are passable and no rains have been experienced for the last 3 days.
Tsavo East National Park: The area has experienced minimal rains and the park is accessible.
Tsavo West National Park: All roads leading to the park are accessible.
Samburu/Shaba National Reserves: All lodges and camps are currently accessible.
PrideInn Mara Camp Temporary Closure
Due to the heavy and unprecedented rainfall in the region, the Talek River, adjacent to the camp, has experienced significant flooding, necessitating the closure of the premises until further notice. We will notify you of their reopening timeline as and when the information becomes available. Our Reservations team will be in touch with the agents whose bookings have been affected.
