Jamhuri Day Public Holiday On 12th December 2023 In Kenya

Tuesday, the 12th of December, 2023 will be a public holiday in Kenya. Jamhuri Day (Republic Day) is a national holiday in Kenya, celebrated on 12th December each year. “Jamhuri” is the Swahili word for “republic” and the holiday officially marks the date when Kenya became an independent country on 12th December 1963, six months after gaining internal self-rule on 1 June 1964 (Madaraka Day) from the United Kingdom.

Soroi Samburu Lodge Reopening December 2024

In light of the recent substantial rainfall and consequent floods in Samburu in recent weeks, The Soroi Collection have made the decision to “re-build” Soroi Samburu Lodge completely from the ground up to cater for all eventualities. The new Soroi Samburu Lodge, will be built on a raised platform to ensure the safety of the property. The opening has been postponed from July to 15th December 2024. The rebuilt lodge will offer an eco-friendly design, state-of-the-art facilities and amenities that blend with the natural surroundings.
