Increase in international visitors to South Africa for the month of March

Statistics SA announces that South Africa’s inbound international arrivals increased by 13% in March 2024. Europe, North America, Central and South America, and Asia are contributing markets. US, Germany, and Belgium markets exceeded pre-pandemic levels.

E-tags are no longer in use

Car Rental companies have deactivated E-toll tags, you will not be able to use it as a toll payment method at conventional toll plazas countrywide.

The drivers of the rental vehicles will be liable for payment of the required toll fees at these toll plazas in cash or by credit card. Guests should be prepared to either pay cash, or use their cards at the tollgates.

Rentals prior to 11 April 2024 will still be billed via the car rental companies.
