Marijani Zanzibar Rebranding
Global hospitality group The Lux Collective and ZK Venture Company in Zanzibar have signed a hotel management agreement for the first LUX* luxury resort in East Africa. Set on a private pristine beach overlooking the Indian Ocean, Marijani has been meticulously prepared and has commenced its operations as LUX* Marijani Zanzibar from 1 July 2023.
New Luxury Lodge Opens At Ngorongoro Crater
Meliá Hotels International has recently unveiled its latest addition in Tanzania – the luxury Ngorongoro Lodge – marking the company’s fourth property in the country. The lodge joins Gran Melia Arusha, amidst the Serengeti and Kilimanjaro peaks, and Meliá Zanzibar and Meliá Serengeti Lodge. Ngorongoro Lodge features 52 rooms, each with views of the Ngorongoro crater.
New Look For Luxury Tented Camp in Samburu
Soroi Collection’s luxury tented camp, Soroi Larsens Camp, in Samburu, Kenya, has undergone a complete transformation. According to Monet Tiran, Head of Sales and Marketing for the Soroi Collection, the new Soroi Larsens Camp has been redesigned to be smaller, more exclusive, and more opulent than previously. The camp now offers 14 luxury tented rooms built on raised platforms, providing guests with a personalised and immersive experience.

Cottar’s 1920s Camp has launched four new tents in the Maasai Mara, comprising 2 replacements of their double luxury tents (Ndovu and Kudu), 1 additional new luxury double tent (Athi), and 1 new honeymoon tent (Malo). The new tents are approximately 40% larger than their older luxury double tents. The interiors include bathrooms with wallpaper; wooden flooring throughout, bespoke furniture, which has a nod to the 1920’s era, yet is modern and accessible.
